Concert Band

The Bishop Watterson Concert program is an extremely important part of the instrumental music department at Bishop Watterson High School. The concert band is a second semester course which meets and rehearses everyday and the majority of the marching band students participate as well as many new students each year. Students audition for seat placement only. The band periodically participates in the OMEA District level contests and has been to the state level three times. The concert band began performing music at the OMEA class C level and now performs class A or grade 4 literature. Works by composers such as Robert W. Smith, Eric Whitacre, David Gillingham, Steven Reineke, and many others have been performed.
